In 1984, five forward-thinking CPAs came together in Florence, South Carolina to put into operation their vision for a new accounting and consulting firm model. For years, national firms had begun to expand typical service offerings provided by CPAs. However, local firms, particularly in South Carolina, were still providing only traditional bookkeeping, tax return and financial statement preparation.

From the beginning, the vision of this newly formed group Webster, Rogers, West, Berry & Grady included establishing niche practice areas that provided much needed specialty services for businesses and individuals as well as the traditional accounting and tax advice. These specialty areas included healthcare and physician services, retirement plan administration, business advisory services, and management consulting services.

This model proved successful, and the firm quickly expanded into other markets throughout the region. In 1985, the firm opened its second location in Myrtle Beach. Substantial growth continued, and in the late 1990s the firm began expansion into other markets through mergers with similarly client-focused firms throughout South Carolina. These mergers resulted in a name change for the firm to WebsterRogers LLP. Today, the Firm has nine offices located in Hilton Head, Sumter, Georgetown, Charleston, Pawleys Island, Columbia, Summerville, Florence, and Myrtle Beach.

WebsterRogers LLP has continued to grow since its beginning in 1984 and now has 21 partners and over 150 total professional and support staff. Over the years, the firm has adapted and added additional service areas and specialties to meet changing client and industry needs. What have not changed since 1984, are our principles of quality, integrity and dedication to client service.

We understand that our success is directly related to a strong commitment to our people and our clients. Providing quality service to meet the broad spectrum of client needs is the foundation that WebsterRogers was built on, and we are committed to continuing that pursuit.

That’s the power of commitment. That’s the power of WebsterRogers.
