Healthcare Update 9/11/20 – MIPS Performance Scores Now Available- Submit Targeted Reviews by October 5th

CMS has released its MIPS scores for your 2019 performance which could affect your payment in 2021.  On August 5, 2020, CMS released 2019 MIPS performance feedback and final scores. If you submitted data for the 2019 performance period, you can view your MIPS performance feedback and final score on the Quality Payment Program website.  Within this site you will have the chance to review your MIPS score, find out if you’ll be getting a payment adjustment, and, if necessary, request that CMS review for possible errors. You can access your feedback and scores by visiting the Quality Payment Program login page and using your HCQIS Access Role and Profile, or HARP, credentials — they’re the same credentials you used to submit your 2019 MIPS data.

The final scores will dictate the positive, negative, or neutral payment adjustment that will be applied in 2021 to the amounts Medicare pays you for covered professional services.

If You Think an Error Was Made in Your Adjustment

If you believe an error has been made in your MIPS payment adjustment calculation, you can request a targeted review until October 5, 2020. The targeted review option is open to all MIPS-eligible clinicians, groups, and virtual groups, including APM participants. CMS encourages you to submit a request form if you believe a targeted review of your MIPS payment adjustment factor (or additional MIPS payment adjustment factor, if applicable) is warranted through the QPP (Quality Payment Program) Website .

For instructions on how to request a targeted review, refer to the 2019 Targeted Review User Guide & the 2021 MIPS Payment Adjustment Fact Sheet and the QPP access guide provide information on the adjustment and targeted review processes. Resources also found here: CMS General Resource Library
