WRFLORENCE, SC. (April 16, 2013) — WebsterRogers LLP is pleased to announce the launch of the WebsterRogers LEAP summer leadership program.  LEAP is an acronym for Leadership, Excellence, Achievement and Performance.

LEAP is a two-day program designed for college students to realize and expand their leadership potential.  The program is open to high-performing college students from select South Carolina universities who are currently majoring in accounting and intend to be CPA-eligible at the completion of their undergraduate or graduate education.   The Universities selected for the inaugural class were the University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, Francis Marion University and Coastal Carolina University.

“We are extremely excited to launch such a unique program,” stated Wayne Musick, Human Resources Director for WebsterRogers.  “We hope that by doing this we will provide valuable insight into public accounting as a career for the students as well as be able to identify strong potential employment candidates for the future.”

Students who are selected to attend will gain valuable experience by shadowing WebsterRogers professionals, participate in panel discussions with peers and industry professionals, and develop leadership skills that will help them in the recruiting process.  Along with obtaining valuable insight into the day-to-day activities of a public accounting firm, the participants will learn about different types of accounting services including tax and attest services.

This year’s inaugural LEAP program will take place in WebsterRogers’ Charleston office on May 30th and May 31st.
