CHARLESTON, SC. (October 31, 2012) — WebsterRogers LLP is pleased to announce that Managing Partner, Debra A. Turner, CPA, has been recognized as a Woman to Watch by the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) in conjunction with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  This award highlights the accomplishments of women in the CPA profession.

Ms. Turner joined WebsterRogers via a merger in 2000 and has served as the firm’s managing partner since January 2012.  She has served as the Partner-in-Charge of the Lowcountry Economic Unit that includes the Charleston and Summerville offices since 2000 and provides tax planning and consulting to clients, primarily in the healthcare industry.

Ms. Turner has practiced in public accounting in Charleston for 30 years.  As the managing partner of WebsterRogers LLP she is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the firm’s eight offices as well as long-term strategic direction.  A SCACPA member since 1980, Ms. Turner is a member of the Coastal Chapter and a past president of the SCACPA Board of Directors.  She is a member of the AICPA and served as the state designated member from 1996-1998.  She has also served as a member and chairman of the South Carolina Board of Accountancy and a member of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.

Ms. Turner currently serves on the Center for Women Board of Directors, the Zonta Club/Zonta Foundation of Charleston, Inc., and is a past member of the Coastal Community Foundation’s Development Committee.  She is a graduate of the College of Charleston where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.
